Contract Personnel are currently working alongside a leading independant Poultry company who are currently recruiting for an experienced Factory Manager to join thier team.

As a Factory Manager you will be required to oversee the full factory operation including the lairage, EV, trussing and packing departments, ensuring that the flow of production is maximised, technical aspects of production are maintained and the factory is managed effectively and efficiently, delivering targets in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:



  • Management of factory team.


  • Ensure production/processing of birds is maximised.


  • Review procedure to ensure efficient and streamlined processes and ways of working.


  • Work with the Directors and Senior Management team to deliver on strategic projects in order to drive forward growth and profit.


  • Oversee and deliver the full production process from live bird intake, slaughter, evisceration, plucking, trussing and packing.


  • Ensure production is cost effective, on time, of quality and to the highest of industry standards.


  • Manage the human and material resources required to include supporting recruitment and procurement to deliver in these areas.


  • Monitor product standards and implement quality control programmes.


  • Develop and integrate new KPI systems and targets.


  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed.


  • Identify the training needs of both new and existing employees.

    Requirements for the role:




  • Proven previous work experience in a poultry/food environment is essential.


  • Previous management experience.


  • Operational and commercial acumen at management level.


  • Strong leadership skills.


  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.


  • Reliability, tolerance and determination.


  • Flexibility is required due to the nature of the business.
